# The Builders Supply catalog

> Search the door and builders hardware catalog of The Builders Supply, read product details, check availability and prepare links to the store cart.

This is a read-only Model Context Protocol server. No key is needed; requests are limited per address. Checkout happens on the store site, and the server holds no customer data and takes no payments.

## Tools

- browse_category: Products of a category and of all its subcategories, alphabetically, up to 50 per page.
- cart_link: Links to put the chosen items in the store cart. The customer completes checkout on the store site; this server never takes payment data. Returns one product page link per item with the quantity rules to respect.
- check_availability: Availability of one or more SKUs with the meaning of each state: in stock with a real count, available with unknown quantity, ordered from the supplier with a lead time, made to order, assembled to order, out of stock, not for sale.
- compare_products: Side-by-side attributes, price, availability, dimensions and weight of 2 to 10 SKUs.
- get_product: Everything the store publishes about one product by SKU: description, attributes, finish and grade, dimensions and weight with units, order multiples, availability state with its meaning, lead time, images, documents, categories and the product page link.
- list_categories: The category tree of the store: top level without parent_id, children with parent_id. Use the id in search_products or browse_category.
- search_products: Full-text search of the store catalog by words, SKU, brand or part number. Returns up to 50 matches with price, availability state and the product page link. Use orderable_only=true to skip items that cannot be bought now.
- store_policies: Shipping, free shipping, freight, returns, refunds, warranty, payment and contact rules of the store in plain text, with links to the full pages.
